The DLLE has received substantial financial assistance from the UGC for the use of technology and the introduction of E-Learning. Centreonline courses for the students, the working population, and the citizens, etc., consequently the Department has established an e-Learning Centre as well as Student Placement / Career Guidance Center during the X Plan financial assistance from the UGC. In order to introduce ‘e-Learning’ through the Department, it has conducted number of programmes for College Teachers and students. The Department is gearing up to introduce Short Term e-Learning modules on a regular basis shortly.

The DLLE has received substantial financial assistance from the UGC for the use of technology and the introduction of E-Learning. Centre online courses for the students, the working population, and the citizens, etc., consequently the Department has established an e-Learning Centre as well as Student Placement / Career Guidance Center during the X Plan financial assistance from the UGC.

In order to introduce ‘e-Learning’ through the Department, it has conducted number of programmes for College Teachers and students. The Department is gearing up to introduce Short Term e-Learning modules on a regular basis shortly.

The UGC had proposed that it would set up about thirty e-Learning Centers in the Country. The Department took steps to;

1. Introduce e-Learning in the University of Mumbai, starting with programs for extension work teachers
    and students as below:

     i) An Orientation Program on e-Learning for a full day was organized for Extension work Teachers on November 23, 2004.

    ii) Three Orientation Programs on e-Learning were conducted for Extension Work Student Managers  on August 6, 2004, September 24, 2004 and December 10, 2004. 

    iii) An Orientation Program on e-Learning was organized for Extension Work Students from December 16-30, 2004.

    iv) The Department has offered a Continuing  Education Course i.e, Training in e-Learning Modules from  April 19-29, 2005.
    v) An Orientation Program on e-Learning for a full day was organized for Extension work Teachers on  November 23, 2006.

2. Introduce the Directors, DACEE’s in the country to the concept of e-learning so that they could be
    assisted in preparing and submitting proposals to UGC for the establishment of an e-Learning Centre at their own Department.
        i) A National Orientation Program in e-Learning was organized from October 26-28, 2004 for the  Directors of Departments of Adult, Continuing Education, Extension and Field Outreach of the  Country.
